[Both] hands of Abū Lahab have come upon loss, [destruction], and wretched misery, his having harmed the Messenger of Allāh, Muḥammad ﷺ; indeed, Abū Lahab’s loss [and destruction have] truly come to pass.
His wealth and his offspring were not enough [to help him]; they will not be able to keep anything away from him of Allāh’s punishment when it falls upon him.
He will enter the Fire of Jahannam, of blazing flames–
he and his wife, [she] who used to carry thorns to throw them on the Prophet’s ﷺ path in order to cause him harm.
On her neck is a rope, tightly twisted, [made] of coarse, tough fiber. With it she is raised up in the Fire of Jahannam and then cast down to its lowest [depths].
