Al-Tīn
Verse 1
Allāh swore by the fig and the olive, two well-known fruits;
Verse 2
and He swore by the mountain Ṭūr Saināʾ, on which Allāh spoke to Mūsá [with real, actual, direct] speech;
Verse 3
and He swore by this city that is safe from [things that cause] fear, Makkah, the place where revelation came down.
Verse 4
We have indeed created Man in the best of forms;
Verse 5
then We will turn him to the reverse into the Fire–if he does not obey Allāh and follow the way of the Messengers.
Verse 6
But those who have believed and worked righteous deeds will have a tremendous reward that will never come to an end or be reduced.
Verse 7
What causes you, O Mankind, to disbelieve in the Resurrection and the Reckoning, despite the clarity of the proofs indicating Allāh the All-High’s ability to [bring] that [about]?
Verse 8
Is not Allāh, the One who made this Day to judge between people, the greatest of judges over everything He created?
Most certainly. So then are creation to be left aimless, without direction, not to be given commandments or prohibitions, nor to be rewarded or punished? That is not correct and will never be the case.
