The Despicable Act of Asking for a Gift to Be Returned

From Ibn ʿUmar and Ibn ʿAbbās, from the Prophet ﷺ [that] he said:

It is not allowed for a man to give something away or to give a gift and then ask for it back—other than a father [or parent] with regard to what he gives his child.

The analogy of one who gives a gift and then asks for it back is that of a dog that eats; and then, when it gets full, throws up [what it just ate]; and then it goes back [to eating] what it [just] vomited.
