Say, O Messenger: I seek refuge and ask protection of the Lord of al-falaq–daybreak–
from the evil of all created things and their harm;
from the evil of a night, extreme in darkness, when it comes in and spreads deep and wide, and what it contains of evil and harmful things;
from the evil of witches who blow on that which they have tied of knots, intending the practice of magic;
and from the evil of the envier, bearer of ill will and hatred for people, when he wishes ill for them due to what Allāh has granted them of good provisions, wants the end of those [good things] for them, and [wants] harm to befall them.
