Breaking up over Nothing
The shaikh, Dr. Muḥammad ibn Ghālib Al-ʿUmarī, may Allāh protect him, said:
Some cases of break-ups between spouses—not all [cases]—have miniscule matters [as] their starting points, but [then those] grew [out of control] until repairing them became [too] difficult. Souls then felt confined after once having felt much room [for one another], and hearts felt aversion after once having felt much love.
Coinciding with that is a husband’s detachment [or dismissiveness] and a wife’s stubbornness: the pillars of [such a] house are then demolished, the joys it once had, then left in grief; its serenity and purity, left troubled and murky.
