Has it come to you, O Messenger, the narration concerning the Resurrection that will cover Mankind with its terrors?

Verse 2

The faces of the disbelievers on that day will have been subjugated by punishment…

Verse 3

…made weary by work, exhausted.

They will be made to drink from a spring of water that has reached the limits of heat.

Verse 6

The People of the Fire will not have anything to eat other than a thorny plant that clings to the ground, one of the worst, most offensive things to eat;

Verse 7

it neither adds substance to the emaciated body of one who has it, nor relieves his hunger or [provides] what would be enough to live on.

Verse 8

The faces of the believers on the Day of Resurrection are of joy;

Verse 9

having worked during the [earlier] life of the world in acts of obedience, pleased in the Hereafter;

Verse 10

in a Garden high up in [both] place and status.

Verse 11

They will not hear there a single word devoid [of goodness or benefit].

Verse 12

In it are streams whose waters gush forth.

Verse 13

In it are high thrones…

Verse 14

…goblets made ready for the ones who [will] drink [from them]…

Verse 15

cushions set in straight lines, each one next to the other…

Verse 16

and carpets of great number, laid out.

Verse 17

Will not those who deny the truth, those who reject it, look at the camel [and consider]: how was it created, so amazing a creation?

Verse 18

And at the sky: how was it raised high, such a wondrous elevation?

Verse 19

At the mountains, how were they set in place, so the Earth, as a result, is stable and remains in place?

Verse 20

And at the Earth, how was it spread out and made amenable?

Verse 21

So preach, O Messenger, [to] those who have turned away, with that which you have been sent with to them, and do not feel sad about their turning away; you are only one to preach to them–

Verse 22

it is not upon you to force them upon faith.

Verse 23

But the one who turns away from the reminder and warning and persists in disbelief…

Verse 24

…Allāh will give him as punishment the severe punishment [that is] in the Fire.

Verse 25

Certainly, to Us is their return after death;

Verse 26

then certainly, after that, their requital is upon Us for that which they had done.
